Yes, this issue was reported several times. I have to find a better way to
handle this.
The settings.xml that you checked is the wrong one. Please check one of the
following files for this setting:
XBMC\userdata\guisettings.xml
XBMC\userdata\addon_data\script.games.rom.collection.browser\settings.xml
XBMC\userdata\addon_data\service.rom.collection.browser\settings.xml
I am not sure where this setting is located. I have to check myself but I am
still setting up my new dev environment...

Ok, I just checked again. The setting is located in
XBMC\userdata\addon_data\script.games.rom.collection.browser\settings.xml.
It should look like this:
<setting id="rcb_scrapeOnStartupAction" value="nothing" />
Have to check why it is on "cancel" on your system. Did you use scrape on
startup earlier?

I have just gone through your reply above an altered the settings.xml,
re-enabled RBC and now when i click on it it now shows a small window saying:
Cancelling in Progress
Import is still being cancelled, please try again later.
I have waited several hours but it still keeps saying this??

@richardorme: Are you and nmbowerman the same person? Just to know if we have
one problem with the same setup or maybe two different problems.
When you go into addon settings is "import games on XBMC startup" enabled? And
please show me a log file after trying to launch RCB.

Ok so i re-downloaded RCB again and in have 'Import games on startup' enabed,
and i have the 'settings.xml' setup as you posted but still have the same issue.
When i first launch xbmc i also get "script failed! - dbuplauncher.py"
attached is the latest log.

There is something wrong with your setup now. This is the error message from
the log:
RCB_ERROR: Configuration error. parseInstruction file
D:\Arcade\Emulators\Jnes\kailleraclient.dll does not exist.
Maybe you should delete all RCB configurations from
"XBMC\userdata\addon_data\script.games.rom.collection.browser\" and start again.

OK i just deleted all the above files and uninstalled RCB. I restarted xbmc and
below is the log file.
I then installed RCB via the 'Get Addons' function within xbmc. closed xbmc to
restart and attached the 2nd log.
Then i launched XBMC and launched the RCB and got the same problems as
previously mentioned. Script failed on XBMC launch and then the 'Import is
still in progress'
3rd log is after launching RCB.
Thanks.

There is still the same error in the log:
RCB_ERROR: Configuration error. parseInstruction file
D:\Arcade\Emulators\Jnes\kailleraclient.dll does not exist.
Are you sure you deleted all configuration files? You must check at:
"C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\userdata\addon_data\script.games.rom.col
lection.browser". AppData is hidden by default.

I had unhidden the appdata folder and every time i have tried to reinstall RCB
i have gone in there and deleted and RCB files before reinstalling. But it stil
keeps installing and not working????
I have deleted RCB and started XBMC and here is the log. Then i install RCB and
attached is the 2nd log after installation. Straight away it comes up with the
dblauncher fail...
Its as if when i install it, it is corrupt every time, but im downloading it
and installing it through xbmc?????

You don't need to reinstall RCB every time. All configuration is stored
separately from the code files. Anyway, if you reinstall an addon, XBMC will
always search in "C:\Users\lom\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\packages" an just
reinstalls the .zip-file that it downloaded before. It will not redownload the
same version of an addon twice.
In all your logs there is the same error: "RCB_ERROR: Configuration error.
parseInstruction file D:\Arcade\Emulators\Jnes\kailleraclient.dll does not
exist."
Do you see the config file on your HDD? This is where the corrupt config.xml is
located:
C:\Users\Richard\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\userdata\addon_data\script.games.rom.colle
ction.browser\config.xml
Do you have any windows routines running that restore deleted files or
something like this?

As far as i know i don't have have restore programs running. Its pretty much a
bare bones windows 7 64bit running XBMC, firefox and skype.
Is there anywhere i can download a different config.xml file and replace the
corrupt one on my HDD?
Original comment by richardo...@gmail.com

No, config.xml is always specific to your own system (containing paths etc.).
Only way is to delete the config.xml and recreate it within RCB.

Ok so i went and deleted the Config.xml, re-enabled RCB and, boom, problem
still exists! :(
Man this is annoying!!!

How large is your XBMC folder in "C:\Users\Richard\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\"? Can
you zip it and send it to me?
Somewhere on your system must be an invalid config.xml file that is causing the
problem.

Woo Hooo i finally got it going. I went back and made sure the config file was
deleted, restarted the pc, relaunched XBMC and RCB. It asked if i wanted to
create a new config.xml
It launched and is now working fine!!! Thank you so much for all of your
help!!!!!!
