Thank you, Jesse - it's still in pretty rough shape, so maybe I'll have one more pass adding more details and references. I'm also welcoming other's edits. I feel there's a lot more to say in this section, but it's tricky to not get carried away and keep it manageable :)

Keep in mind the scope of this paper is so broad that we don't need to give a lot of depth about each part. The goal is to give an overview along with some references where a newcomer can follow up if they are interested.
Let me know when you think you are done and I will review it.
No problem - I'm planning to work on it some more this coming weekend and it should very soon be ready for revision.

Added a section on methods for orthogonal validation experiments. Since this is a vast topic, the section is not comprehensive and still lacks a bunch of references. Moreover, some of th content might go well with the 'Experiment Types' section of the review?
