Apparent 'blanked pane' when following link twice

Open two panes in same window. Drag item link between panes. Click on link twice… first time works, second time get a blank pane with just a tab

A feature of this quirk is that the targeted content ends up in a panel bearing the wrong filename (that of the file which contained the link)

Meanwhile the pane with the correct filename appears empty
