[Kiwi] Test compatibility with usual MB user scripts #650

I had tested so I stayed on Firefox for Android 68.11.0.

Reminder:

  1. Firefox for Android lost add-on support after version 68.11.0 In fact it supports only 16 extensions, not including any user script engine like Violentmonkey
  2. Iceraven (an unbridled version of Firefox) had some bugs
  3. Vivaldi has no extension support yet
  4. Let's test Kiwi, now!

Starting with collection hilighiter, then going on with the 3 Iceraven bug tickets, etc.

COLLECTION HIGHLIGHTER works! Cannot highlight this big release #553 no problem!

I have installed all my user scripts! I will install other userful userscripts and browse MusicBrainz a few days to see. Strange thing is that Stylus does not detect and install my user CSS (I have only one now). 🤔 How to do then?

jesus2099 commented 2 years ago

I have filled a Stylus bug ticket https://github.com/openstyles/stylus/issues/1367 And then I found a Kiwi bug ticket https://github.com/kiwibrowser/src.next/issues/420

I have loaded all possible user scripts for MusicBrainz, including some big heavy stuff. I have also loaded my big 1129 CD collection in COLLECTION HIGHLIGHTER. Browsing the web and MB is as smooth as in Firefox 68.11.0, if not even more.

I have been running 52 scripts, including big and demanding ones, without any performance issues. I have not seen any bugs like I did immediately with Iceraven. Maybe I should check Iceraven again now to be fair.

But I think I will at least stop waiting for Firefox and Vivaldi on Android and switch to Kiwi that works so good with user scripts extensions add-ons.

It works really good, I can close this ticket and keep using Kiwi Browser instead of Firefox for Android 68.11.0!
