Inconsistent edit paid and owed behaviour

Given this example student and lesson:

Using edit 1 owed/50 updates the schedule panel:

After using edit 1 paid/50, owed amount is still the same:

As a user, I would expect the edited paid amount to reflect accordingly similar to how the edited owed amount works, but this is not the case.

(Rejected) The pay command would address what the tester is trying to do. The edit command should only modify the specified field to ensure the full autonomy of the user for his or her data.
