A crash dialog is expected at the moment with 1.5.6, but with winetricks
from svn, dotnet20 successfully installs anyway.
See http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30845 for the underlying bug
and status of a real fix.

Thanks a lot, I've searched winehq bugs again but did not find this :)

I checked in the suggested recipe from 30845, try
http://winetricks.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/src/winetricks
now

Hi, I've tried it but failed the same way as the previous version: svn 837.
The installer would crash and pop several error dialogs during installation,
then it exits with code 67.
Then every program written in .net 2.0 won't run either.

I tweaked the version numbers at which the workarounds are applied
so 1.5.6 (but probably not current git) works. Try a fresh
http://winetricks.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/src/winetricks
again with 1.5.6 or any earlier version, or with 1.5.7 when it comes out.

Hi, I've tried svn 839, it did shows:
"Working around wine bug 30845 -- Adding .NETFramework registry key. Ignore
fatal error dialog if it pops up."
but errors were the same, and after installation programs using .net 2.0 still
failed to load.
I'm using wine 1.5.6.

Try wine 1.5.7.

Thanks, wine 1.5.7 works correctly here.

OK, there's something stinky about winetricks with wine-1.5.6.
If a lot of people run into it, we should fix it or warn people.
Until then I'm tempted to not worry.
