Garage door status unreliable

Describe The Bug: The garage door controller status in the Home app frequently switches between the four states (opening, closing, open, closed) despite the Wyze app not reporting any opens or closes in the device's log page.

To Reproduce: Set up the controller. I personally have the accessory split into two because I don't care for the camera switches so I hide the camera in the Home app.

Expected behavior: State to match the state in the Wyze app. The Wyze app doesn't really tell you directly if the door is open or closed, but their log shows an event history that is accurate.

Note, this is not new to alpha 7. This has been an issue since I think alpha 3 when the controller was properly added. I've tried a few things thinking it was the Wyze cam's detection itself being unreliable (in part it was) but now at this point every time I open the camera I see it is picking up the QR code accurately and the event log does not show any unexpected status changes.

Can you turn on apiLogging so we can see the calls. You will need to compare the results each time of getProperty.

Nevermind, with the debug option set in Homebridge settings I see there is more logging.

This was the log for right when the Home app changed the status to Opening, at 8:06:35 PM EST. I was watching the app at this time and notably just before it happened, at 8:06:09 PM Home correctly reported it as Closed and it hadn't changed recently.

I am having the same problem but I just wanted to add something that I noticed when playing around with the Home app. In my case, when the status changes from "closed" to "closing," if you exit the app and then go right back into it, the status changes back to "closed" immediately.

I was also curious about the time between changes. I did a screen recording and roughly timed them. They were all about a minute apart. I don't know how to get to the logs DiscoveryOV did, so if anyone could point me to that I could try to add that. I'm really new to Homebridge, about 2 days, and don't know much of anything about code.

However, I remembered the Refresh Interval goes every minute. So I changed it to 3 minutes and tested the Home app again. The status didn't change for 3 minutes that time. Every time it refreshes and runs the plugins (mine runs 3) the status changes in the Home app.

I don't know if this has been discussed before but I hope I've at least narrowed it down a little? Is the refresh cutting off the status really quickly, rather than being constant, and Homekit thinks the status is changing? Could it just be the bridge between Homebridge and Homekit?

Would it be possible to set something up to show the previous status for a couple seconds while it refreshes and then show the current status when it's completed?

Just noting that I'm also experiencing this. Glad to provide any info that may be helpful.

Edit: This also triggers a push notification every time I open the home app because it thinks the status changed.

It no longer shows the status transitions when the garage is opening or closing but at least it stays consistent.

How are those changes working out?

I was able to get things to be a bit more stable by making the following changes. I'm not sure of the full impact but maybe it'll give some clues toward a proper fix.

With the status constantly showing Opening... or Closing... every minute, I commented out https://github.com/jfarmer08/homebridge-wyze-smart-home/blob/f84976232f4bddb52e0912aeacfa29180e8f5e99/src/accessories/WyzeCamera.js#L326-L328

It no longer shows the status transitions when the garage is opening or closing but at least it stays consistent.

With the unreliability of opening/closing the garage where it'd stop part way in transition, I removed this line with a sleep.
