Is there a way to dim or make the indentation lines thinner as the VS Code extension?

It's actually already in the FAQ. Set an alpha value (RGBA color) is one way. There are other ways if you are willing to read ST's docs, which is listed also in the FAQ.

This is how it looks like on my setup:
