In Parisi 2003, they make the case the male-biased expressed genes on the X are poorly conserved in the mosquito. I don't have mosquito data, but I have the 8 other Drosophila species that I could compare. Before exploring this I want to count how many genes moved between D. mel and D. vir.
Questions and Tasks
[ ] Count the number of genes on the X (dmel) and on the X (dvir)
[ ] Count the number of genes on the X (dmel) and on the A (dvir)
[ ] Count the number of genes on the A (dmel) and on the X (dvir)
If there are at least 100 genes per class then consider making Fig 4 from Parisi 2003.
