Latest optparse applicative upgrade #8

This is pretty rough work as I mainly type tetrised my way to success here. Not sure where to put simpleParse' it's probably better for the maintainer to decide anyway.

@rgrinberg here :) I don't see anything wrong with this. I'm just now at a place where I can examine your changes. I also have to reconcile this with a pending-release branch (none of which duplicates your contributions). There should be some movement here by Monday.

NP. I did actually test it by using it. I did not just cabal build && git push :)
