Motivation:

According to jetbrains, java 6 is almost dead for developers: https://www.jetbrains.com/lp/devecosystem-2021/java/.
I checked the usages of FastODS on Github: there is only one project that uses java 7, and this project is not actively maintained.
Personal note: I was stuck to java 6 for external reasons, but that's not the case anymore.
I miss some Java 8 features (try with resources, lambdas).
