Cannot make screenshot using compiz

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. run KDE 4.6.0 with compiz (desktop effects)
2. start conversation and try to make screenshot

Expected:
ability to select rectangle from screenshot

Got:
screen blinks and got message:
"An other program has requested to use the display, canceling..."

Pidgin version: 2.8.0devel
Purple library version (libpurple) : 2.8.0devel

Operating System: OpenSUSE 11.4 with KDE 4.6.0

I made it to work - see patch.

I am using KDE4 with Kwin desktop effects, having same issue with you.
Tried the patch and it works perfectly.
