W3C Test 8.1.5.a shows no xf:output LnF variability by appearance #483

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Test 8.1.5.a is about xf:output appearances. All outputs (with appearance
full, compact or minimal) appear identical.

The test does not suggest what an expected variation in look and feel
could be (as an example).

The test is marked as 'Passed' in the manual results files.

As MarkB reminds on IRC, this issue relates to behavior in XHTML mode,
which is how we have the W3C test suite checked into SVN. This may not be
an issue in HTML mode (vague since I'm adding this comment as a bulk edit
across multiple issues). The manual results files actually reflect HTML
mode behavior.

Closing this issue as per my discussion with John on Sept 23rd. The
representation is
not the requirement in this test. The passing of the tests refers to the
attributes
being visible in the mark-up the GUI can use whatever means it desires to
represent
the compact, full minimal attribute since it is not specified in the XForms
specification.
