battery pro sticks at 100% after it is unplugged #53

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Usually happens when my phone is plugged via USB at work (Window 7).  
2. This doesn't always happen. 
3. The phone charges all night on a charger and it has never been a problem in 
the morning when I disconnect the charger.

What is the expected outcome? What happens instead?
Batter Pro reads 100%.  After a while, i become suspect of the stellar batter 
performance.  I need to shut phone off and restart it.  Battery Pro then shows 
the correct %.

What branch (Free or Pro) and version (number) of the app are you using?
Pro 5.0.2

Which device are you using?
Samsun Galaxy SII

Which carrier are you using?
T-Mobile

What language is your device set to?
English

Which version of Android are you using?
2.3.5

Do you have an "Task Killer" or similar apps installed?
yes but I have it set to ignore battery pro

Please provide any additional information here:
It never had this problem with my Galaxy S (save carrier).

Same problem on Samsung galaxy s2x with Telus mobility (Canada). Model tgh989.

Touching the battery meter icon has it saying battery is "discharging from 
100%".  In actuality, battery meter in notifications area says 69 or xx 
percent.  Values differ.

For the main issue, the Task Killer is strongly suspect, even if set to ignore 
the app.  I recommend uninstalling the Task Killer for a few days and seeing if 
that makes a difference.  (I fall short of recommending getting rid of it for 
good, because it can be an almost religious issue; despite virtually everyone 
who knows Android well insisting over and over again that Task Killers do more 
harm than good, many people just aren't willing to stay away from them.)

Please try it without the Task Killer for a few days and let me know how it 
goes.

Regarding Comment 2, the "Discharging from XX%" tells you what the charge was 
when you unplugged your phone.  If you only get partially charged and have to 
unplug and run out the door when you're at, say, 67%, then that will say 
"Discharging from 67%" until you plug it in again.

First of all, thanks for the reply.  I had given you a negative review on
the market which I have now rescinded.  I didn't add a task killer to my
phone it came installed when new.  I'm not sure I can uninstall it. I too
suspect it is causing the issues, but there is no ignore this or that that
I can find to prevent it from doing its thing.

Huh, I've not heard of task killers coming pre-installed, but there's just so 
many devices now, I really can't keep up anymore.  Anyway, if that's the case, 
I don't see anything I can easily do to help, which is unfortunate.  If it's 
enough of a problem that you'd like a refund, please send me an email with the 
Google Checkout order number and I'll take care of that for you.

Yes, sorry, I would like a refund, even though it is only a couple
dollars.  I really appreciate your time and honesty.  It's more rare
than it should be these days.  If I can help you beta test anything in

Yeah, Google has been including those strange, long numbers lately, but they 
don't seem to mean anything.  Somewhere (either in the original email or after 
logging into Google Checkout and looking at your orders) you should be able to 
find a 15-digit number for this order -- that's the one I need.

I have the same problem since the last update with my Samsung s2 lte. Tele2 and 
Android w
2.3. I do not have a taskkiller imstalled, and it worked in the last version.

I've been giving this some thought, and so far I can't think of anything that 
would cause this besides a task killer.  There may be some other potential 
cause that I just haven't thought of yet, but at the moment I think the most 
likely thing is that you have some app or another that is killing the Battery 
Indicator service, even if you're not aware of which app that might be.

I wish I had something more useful to say, but at the moment that's the best 
explanation I can come up with.  I'll continue to think about it.
