Icon disappears from status bar #70

I have been using the free version of Battery Indicator for months with no 
problems on my Samsung Epic 4G.  With the firmware update to version 2.3.5, the 
icon and percentage disappears from the status bar.  If I reboot the phone, the 
icon appears, but then later, it is gone.  What is causing the icon to 
disappear?  Do I have a setting set incorrectly?
