6 years ago I just checked for any log entries and nothing was dumped to the log files:

similar to issue jgfoster/Jade.bak#135 and jgfoster/Jade#25. Unlike jgfoster/Jade.bak#135, the X window system is not frozen, but I do have to kill the wine process to close the dead windows (clicking on the window controls -- close, collapse, etc. -- does not produce a response) . As with jgfoster/Jade#25, I can move the windows around the screen but otherwise the windows are not responsive to mouse clicks:
This occurred while working at home, so I am on a single monitor system ...
I don't recall doing anything out of the ordinary to cause the freeze up.... However, with the windows completely locked up there is a danger that I would lose GemStone work (not being able to commit). At this point I don't know whether I lost any work, but this time I should be able to recover without too much trouble ...
Unfortunately I cannot afford taking a chance on losing significant work, so I'm going to have to stop using Jadeite on Ubuntu until this particular problem is somehow resolved ...
