The presentation (which I missed) seemed to be quite interesting. I think I should start there as Johan found it quite interesting and very much related to my project.

Evolution of trust The way we interact is evolving and thus are trust channels. In pre-industrial times, people only interacted with people they personally knew and built trust through real interactions with peers. Post-industrial times brought large companies which we trusted because their interest was to make customers happy in order to compete on the market. Currently we are in the phase where platforms like Airbnb and Uber allow us to share experiences and items with other "trusted users" based on a rating and review structure which is locked to each platform. We hope that the future brings a system, which will enable global secure transactions between all people globally, without any trusted third party.

Properties of trust Trust is not an absolute quantity, but rather trust is relative to a transaction. We can have trust in a certain skill of a person but not another. Therefore a real identity would have many different values of trust instead of just one. We can measure the amount of trust and trust is directional. Further discussed in #13

Trust based recommender systems On Spotify, we trust those users with recommendations, that listen similar music to us. Thus trust could be subjective instead of objective in some cases.
