How to add some LaTeX delimiters? #631

How can I add some custom LaTeX delimiters? I'm trying to use one suite of Markdown files for both my Gitit journal and an associated Gitlab wiki. The problem is Gitlab uses their own custom LaTeX delimiters:

$''$ for in-line math, and
~~~math for display style.

Can I add these delimiters to the set that Gitit will recognize?

Best you can do is write a gitit plugin to transform the AST.
