Can you clarify a bit the difference between what situation lets you operate successfully and what situation causes the error? There are --debug options as well.
Sure. The successful run of twists occurs at the command line in bash.
I have a backup script set to run as root. After running, the script is supposed to notify me via twidge that it's done. I successfully set up twidge in my user accept and have set it successfully under my root account. In all tests it fails with the above error.
So I can just run 'twidge update yadda yadda --debug' ? I presume that posting the output may help you?

Stupid iPhone autocorrect. How shall I send you the output of the debug switch?
First try the binaries I've posted on the download page. Then you could send to my email jgoerzen ..at.. complete ..dot. org.
Must've been "transient twitter failure." They seem to be coming through at this point.
Thank you for your willingness to help.
Sigh@twitter. Thank you for the update.
Getting (Bad response: 403) error when I try to run twidge from a bash script.
I have gone through the setup and can successfully send an update from the command line.
Not sure where to go from here. Is there any sort of log that I can check?
Any thoughts?
