Experimentations

• A HuggingFace Space with Notebook to create musical inferences in the creative process of song/notes writing. Still usable but limited by how you define your prompts. We want to keep the idea of defining a 'configuration' for a creation with its 'iteration' and more data elements.
• For the infrastructure : An API Cloud Inferencing Endpoint of ChatMUsician with 4 GPUs and 64 GB RAM is available in the Cloud. Once created, you can pause it. You are charged only when you resume the endpoint.
• Writing of jgcmlib, a python library that wraps various post-processing actions using the "generated text" from the inferencing API.
• Prototype Python Code that uses jgcmlib and the HuggingFace Hub API. It wraps the starting of the API Inferencing Endpoint and loop thru a desired list of prompts. It resumes the endpoint, do the inferences then pause the endpoint (makes it about 0.10$ per execution on the 3$/hr huge machine.). No manual operation and waiting for the endpoint to be ready when you launch the loop - it resume the endpoint, requests the inferences from the list, save results and stop (pause) the endpoint in one operation. LIMITATION: You must hard edit the python file and sets your list of prompts to a dictionary variable. ENHANCEMENT: External file definition, either a CSV or a JSON.

Prototype Enhancements

Core Concept:

• Assisting the creative process of song/notes writing through a cloud-based platform.

Improvements:

• External Configuration:
  • Implement an external file (CSV or JSON) to define the list of prompts, replacing the hard-coded dictionary in the Python code.
  • This allows for easier modification and management of prompts without directly editing the code.
• User Interface:
  • Develop a user interface to replace the need for manual code execution.
  • This interface should allow users to:
    • Upload or input their list of prompts.
    • Initiate the inference process.
    • View and manage the generated results.
• Error Handling:
  • Implement robust error handling to address potential issues during the inference process.
  • Provide informative error messages to the user.
• Documentation:
  • Create comprehensive documentation for the prototype, including:
    • Installation instructions.
    • Usage guide.
    • Explanation of the configuration file format.
    • Troubleshooting tips.

Removed Features:

• The HuggingFace Space with Notebook will be removed as it is limited in functionality.
• The prototype Python code will be replaced by the new user interface and improved backend logic.

Design Principles:

• Maintain the same aesthetic and design principles as the original prototype.
• Ensure a user-friendly and intuitive interface.

Addressing Issues:

• Fix any noted issues or errors in the original prototype.
• Implement the suggested improvements to enhance functionality and usability.

Output:

The final output will be a cloud-based platform with a user interface that allows musicians and songwriters to easily generate musical inferences based on their defined prompts.
