Project Language #6

Kane confirmed with me today that the language we are using is Python. As I sit here doing Lab 5 I think we will need to use C#, HTML, Javascript/Typescript, CSS, and Angular. So, I have now confused myself.

What I imagine is that we will use the above for most of the project, and if there is some special functionality we would like to add using another language we can use that other language. For me, that other language would be Java or Python. Those are the only two I know. I have a smattering of JavaScript, minimal C#, enough HTML and CSS, no TypeScript, no Angular. I am learning JavaScript, C#, C, and Lisp "on the side" when I have time. I have active projects in Java and Python.

All this to say, I am fine with using Python wherever we can. I am also fine with a multi-lingual app that allows us to pick up a little of whatever works along the way. I am not fine with struggling to finish because someone doesn't know the language we choose but knows another one that would work, and that someone getting hung up when they could just switch to the language they know and get on with it.

Thoughts?

I think we should use Angular and Bootstrap like we are doing in class now, and Azure to host. Partly because it's easier and partly because Chad has been advocating that since I first met him.

What do you think?

So, as of yesterday we can confirm he's expecting .net on the back end. So, Angular and Bootstrap for the front, .NET for the API server, Azure for hosting, and Entity Framework for the database. Are you seeing/hearing the same thing?

I agree that we are using Angular and Bootstrap for the front, .NET for the API server, Azure for hosting, and Entity Framework for the database. I think we should use the multi-language system that we've been working on in the labs instead of using Python at this point.

@Demerti @AlexTetzloff If we are in agreement, I'll close the issue.
