The option --plot-applied-vc should be expanded to also generate
individual/composite plots of just the variance curves, so that they can be
included in papers easily, without having to hack together representative curves
from elsewhere.
Furthermore, the necessary temporal parameters should be pickled during stage 1
so that I can retrieve them during graph generation and put the eqn on the
legend of the variance curve plots.
