idk about a cross platform server but minecraft bedrock edition will offer to download addons that are currently installed on the server at the time of connection. the same as it does when connecting to a bedrock realm. to install addons, you open the world on your phone or pc, and install your addons, then export the world and unzip it with 7zip or winrar, then copy the world files back to your server. and launch, upon connecting with a different device, it will offer to install the addons for you by downloading them straight from the server. again, idk how that would work with a cross platform server but im very interested in knowing more as i have an active use case for it.
I was thinking maybe phantom could send a payload to your ps4 minecraft or connect in some way. Servers usually download packs like resource packs as cache so it is not accessible to use however you like. You might be able to trick minecraft into downloading it from the server for use but im not sure how that would be done.
That's possible, but you can only use it on the server
On ps4, it is impossible to download addons via system since there is no file explorer and does not support downloading addon files or zip files. Would it be possible to force a download from a pc to send to the ps4? If not addons, would worlds be able to be sent via internet? Im not sure but something like connecting to a fake server could download resource and Behavior packs like real servers do. Is this possible?
