Update eslint dep; make lint changes #29

Hey there, didn't know if you had already started this but I saw that updating eslint was one of the tasks left on #8 so I went ahead and added those changes with some small code changes to fix lint errors.

it will be a big change for coding style, we need to know details, or you can help to fix lint errors?
