Fix invalid relationship when switching from present to absent or purged #53

Same fix as in #50, but with all of the tests corrected as well. I also ended up setting the rake version to stay compatible with ruby 1.8.7.

@mrwulf No worries on the rake setting. I think I'm going to formally drop ruby 1.8.7 support from all my modules soon; too much gem pain.
