FYI this screen is now natively supported in esphome 2023.03+

Thanks, do you have a link? I had a look through the release notes and couldn't see it.

https://community.home-assistant.io/t/wt32-sc01-with-esphome/473531/11 has the description. It's using the ST7796 sub-component in the ILI9xxx component.
