assignChromosomeRegion #4

Hi there,

the assignChromosomeRegion function assigned the peak region to exon, 5'utr, 3'utr, intron, etc. Since exon include CDS, 5'utr and 3'utr, I wonder how you define exon here, does it overlap with 5'utr and 3'utr?

Thanks.

Hi Riverhuang,

Thank you for asking. If you assigned precedence and the 5UTR and 3UTR are in higher priorities, the exon in assignChromosomeRegion indeed means other part of exons exclude 5'utr and 3'utr. The exons may include CDS, miRNAs or other kind of exons that not belong to 5'utr and 3'utr. If the precedence is not assigned, the exon should include 5'utr and 3'utr.
