ckSupport Tab characters from stock honeycomb keyboard and sinilar

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Connect to a host via connectbot
2. Press the tab key in a shell using stock honeycomb keyboard or "thumb 
keyboard"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect an offer of tab completion. Instead, nothing happens

What version of the product are you using (you can see this by using Menu
-> About in the Host List)?
1.7.1 2010-10-08

Please provide any additional information below.
Hacker's Keyboard offers a ConnectBot-compatible tab key option, but it seems 
like other keyboards are binding Tab differently. Supporting the stock Tab 
behavior seems like a definite win, allowing a wider variety of keyboards to be 
usable.

While we're at it, support for the bluetooth keyboard input methods for 
physical keyboard is generally broken. In addition to tab and ctrl working 
incorrectly, the symbols over the number keys (e.g. Shift+6 for ^) do not work, 
which is especially problematic, since it is rather difficult to bring up a 
soft keyboard when using the physical one (by default, you have to disable the 
pysical keyboard to use a soft keyboard)
