Version 3.9 won't work with .tar.xz archives on 10.8.5 #703

I'm using 3.9 legacy on 10.8.5.

If I open a foo.tar.xz archive, I get the progress bar as usual.  When 
TheUnarchiver finishes, however, there is no new directory, i.e., there's no 
decompressed folder there.

3.8 legacy works fine.

I should note that the corresponding cli tools, unar 1.8 and lsar 1.8, work 
fine.  I am able to get an actual decompression using unar 1.8
