[TTS] - Text to Speech Output Should Have Dedicated Audio Channel #14

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

Currently the TTS volume is connected to the media volume. As a result,
when listening to music with the volume cranked up, the TTS is almost
deafening. (Perhaps my music isn't loud enough. Regardless...) It would be
awesome if the synthesizer could have its own volume setting.

Agreed. This is now a problem. My app EZCam has controls for media volume and
alert
volume separately. The speech however is now so loud that I have to turn the
media
volume down - which in turn causes my audio alerts to be too quiet. The alerts
themselves are recorded at an optimal sound level, so it's not an issue with the
alerts being too quiet.

I preferred the volume level as it was before (1.4) - the control was more
flexible.

This would be a great as I listen to Pandora on my G1 and also when I get calls
the
speech interrupts my ability to hear the other party. I would like to see this
in the
TTS settings. Many other systems have this ability of separate sound volumes.
