Using TTSE when TTS already in place #51

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install TTS Voice Data from Android Market to use Pico TTS
2. Install TTSE from Android Market, including eSpeak TTS
3. Try to use another app., such as TalkBack, check "Use TTSE" option

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I had expected that the apps that want to speak, such as TalkBack, would use
the TTS Engine chosen in TTSE (eSpeak or in addition, purchased SVOX Classic)
rather than the Pico TTS that was installed with the default TTS control.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

This is TTSE V19 and TalkBack V14 installed on Android 2.1 (Motorola Milestone
/ Droid) very recently fetched from Android Market.

Please provide any additional information below.

I can get the sample voice to play back within the TTSE settings applet, but I
don't hear it in any applications. This is using the British English or
English (United Kingdom) voice engines in a UK locale on Android.

I found that this was cured once Motorola's Maintenance Release MR2.5, update 1
for Android 2.1, was applied. The firmware now shows as V2.1-update1.
