VGA Paint 386 #134

VGAPaint is another DOS GPLed drawing program. It seems to have less 
features than GrafX2, but is more DeluxePaint-ish and do some thing we 
don't, for example animation and antialiasing, picture rotations/flips.

Maybe there are some ideas to borrow, and maybe we could reuse some of the 
code, too.

Good find! And same license as grafx2 (GPLv2, not "or later"), so if there's 
some
interesting piece of code we can actually use it.
The AA is not complete, it makes a color range from FG color (100%) to BG color 
(0%),
instead of varying opacity.

Real antialiasing is called "Antialias + Blend", ifI understood the help file 
correctly.
Other interesting features :
- Hypertext help (click on a topic to get to more info)
- Contrast / Luminosity / Gamma adjust (simple palette operations)
- Filling modes (tiling the brush, gradiation fill) (we already have some base
support for that, our fill is not as simple as it looks :))
- Animbrushes
- Brush modes : Matte & Monochromatic (the ones we have), full 256 colors brush 
(no
transparency)
- "Quick" brush grab : when grabbing a rectangle brush, if the 4 corners have 
the
same colors, select it as transparent (ie background) color.
