Analyse performance #15

We need to find issues with jide.js performance and try to find things that can be improved and made faster.

For each performance problem that is found, a new issue should be created.

Progress on this issue looks great and should be sufficient for now. When something else is found, we'll open a new issue for it but the general performance looks very good.
