Neuropathy is a severe abnormality, when the nerve pathway is disrupted during
the nerve signals, causing the brain to misinterpret information, feelings or
sensations. Types of different neuropathy diseases are known by different
names; it constitutes and signifies on the number of nerves affected, their
functions, and location of these nerves in the body.
Peripheral Neuropathy: as it may be known as PN the name for nerve damaged
during the malfunction of the peripheral nerves. The PN nerves that are
extended to the arms, hands, legs, and feet come under this category. When a
single peripheral nerve is damaged it is called mono-neuropathy. And if the
nerves are damaged in more numbers, it is called multiple-neuropathies. During
the conditions when these peripheral nerves damages are caused to many nerves
at the same time, it is known as poly-neuropathy.
