I have the same problem:
> sudo logKextClient
> Error: logKext Preferences cannot be found. Is logKextDaemon running?

logKext 2.3, OS 10.5, both Intel and PPC. Re-installing and rebooting do not
help.

Addition: the kextension really cannot be loaded:
> kextload -t logKext.kext
kernel extension logKext.kext has problems:
Validation failures:
{
    "Executable file doesn't contain kernel extension code" = true
}

I used version 2.2 for PPC Leopard and it works after typing sudo logKextClient
the
second time. The first time you will receive: Error finding passKey in keychain
(-25293). Failing

After this failure, type sudo logKextClient again and it will start with no
problem.

I am unable to get 2.3 to work on PPC Leopard.

I haven't tested 2.3 on PPC Leopard. I'll have to test it and see what happens.

For now, use 2.2. 2.3 does not provide any other benefit.

I had the same problem on Mac OS X 10.5.8.

# sudo kextload -v logKext.kext/
kextload: extension logKext.kext/ appears to be loadable
kextload: loading extension logKext.kext/
17logKextUserClient is not compatible with its superclass, 12IOUserClient
superclass
changed?
kextload: a link/load error occured for kernel extension logKext.kext/
link/load failed for extension logKext.kext/
 (run kextload with -t for diagnostic output)

# sudo kextload -t logKext.kext/
kernel extension logKext.kext/ has problems:
Validation failures:
{
    "Executable file doesn't contain kernel extension code" = true
}

Anyone knows a workaround?

i had the same problem so i just tried to install it again and then i realized a
dialog came up for allowing the program to access something but the dialog was
behind
everything else so i typed my username and password and clicked always allow,
then
the program worked fine

This exact problem is occurring to me as well. I've tried the various
permissions modifications that some have
suggested and the problem still persists. This is on 10.5.8.

Hi All. I am not a code geek, nor do I have any special training other than
perseverance.  I run a Powerbook G4 PPC.  At first I downloaded logKext v 2.3
and was getting the "...is Daemon running?' error. I did a couple of
re-installs and no luck.  I de-installed it and downloaded v 2.2.  Then I got
the 'error finding passKey in keychain" error. This is what solved my problem:
 I went into the keychain access > System>LogKextpassKey> it will ask for your
password > next window> then check "allow all applications to access this
item". This seems to have solved the problem now and it is running
well......so far!

I tried everything above and the only thing that worked was Comment 10: I
uninstalled 2.3 and downloaded 2.2 and it's working now. I am running 10.5.8.
