Schematics #1

Any updates to the project such as schematics or a block diagram?

I am interested in this gpsdo as an alternative to the ones that require a 10kc output from the GPS. I have had mixed results with the Jupiter pico-t setup in the w1ghz flexible gpsdo and remain unable to communicate with the module. I have several available 1PPS modules that would make good candidates for this system.

Yes I have updates. Will post in the next few days

Hi Jim , any updates on this project ? we are interested in your progress and schematics !

Yes, I have made further improvements and a friend has made ADEV measurements on my latest version, with encouraging results.

I have converted to a Ublox 5T GPS, which has significantly better performance than the Adafruit breakout board I had been using. The Ublox chips are available on a small board quite inexpensively on eBay.

I am currently working on a version that uses a TI TDC7200 chip to do the phase detection. This is an all-digital solution and the TDC7200 has 55 picosec resolution. Here are the latest schematics. My friend is laying out boards We plan on a separate oscillator board so we can try different oscillators.

Are you comfortable soldering SMD components?

Hi and thanks for the quick reply ! Very interesting that you have gone fully digital, I had already ordered and received the MCP4725 for this project. Though i have ublox 6 and 7 gps chips. I am looking at TDC7200, seems cheap from the usual sources also. Yes, very comfortable with SMD, just no BGA :) TCXO I am planning on using a Trimble 34310-t that I have handy
