It would be great idea to finish this refactoring by making of the repository a distributable library for linux. Maybe, the following links are a good starting point:

Oh, I agree completely. That would be super. But maybe not the priority.

Perfection, I would remove the "question" label accordingly, and leave it as an open issue. I've been exploring the packaging rout and it does not seem quite complicated. It might be a good idea for me to prepare it as a package early on this refactor epic.
