Can't associate downloaded PDFs with existing vanilla/non PDF references #277

Hello,

So I have created a number of Vanilla references and I am now looking to add the PDF documents to those references. I don't want to have to create new entries on Qiqqa as these vanilla references have tags, comments and review information associated with them already and I don't want to have to repeat the work already done.

If I click on the references to open it, it tells me there is no PDF and that I can add one from my files or through the web. I have tried both options and neither work. The web option downloads the PDF as a separate reference (an issue I see someone else has had), which you can't manually associate or merge, and the uploading of the PDF file from my PC is showing in the preview section, but still has the icon of a vanilla reference and it won't open. It keeps telling me there is no PDF. I have even tried deleting the entire reference from my library, closing Qiqqa, uploading the PDF file from my PC, hoping to redo the work I have already done, but it automatically adds the PDF as the vanilla reference. Wat's fout? How do I fix this?

Thanks

🤔 May be related to #254

Note: see #253 for workaround until this is fixed.

@GerHobbelt

Cool, thanks for the workaround. Does the trick for now. :)
