Unable to download/sync Pdfs from/with the Web libraries #321

Hi, I have been using the qiqqa for the past 7 years. I lost my local libraries a few days back. I could recover libraries metadata but unable to download/sync the Pdf associated with each document. I tried to perform full sync but no Pdf gets downloaded. Please guide me on how I can download or sync all PDfs of a library. I used ver 79. Now I am using ver 83.07655

Thanks

v83 releases are specific bug test releases and less reliable in different areas. Please install latest v82 install from the releases list and try with that one. (No need to uninstall; simply run the setup.exe to overwrite your existing Qiqqa application; all your libraries will remain as-is.

When the problem persists, please bundle your logfiles (main toolbar: Blue Help icon > "Bundle log files for Qiqqa Support") in a zip file and upload those here so we can have a look.

Ow. 🤦 Upon re-reading your issue now I may have misunderstood.

As you used v79 (the last Commercial Qiqqa version), any SYNC action you do would be against the Qiqqa Cloud Storage facility. (Unless you have a license and using explicit Intranet storage)

Please note that Qiqqa Cloud Storage is deprecated and not supported by open source Qiqqa. (Links below)

When this is the case and need access to your cloud storage to sync from other nodes, then you must re-install v79 to get access -- since the software / codes to access that cloud storage have never been open sourced.

Then it is also very relevant to note that Qiqqa Cloud has been announced to be discontinued in 2020, so (again, IFF this is your problem) you are very lucky it is still functioning.

For other problems with v83 releases, it might be best to install the latest v82 (i.e. one version before that) as available here: https://github.com/GerHobbelt/qiqqa-open-source/releases/tag/v82.0.7568-29227) until a new release is available. v83 releases are generally test releases, targeting specific issues and all of them have some quirks.

Might be handy to subscribe to the Qiqqa releases mailing list as new releases will be announced there (the "subscribe" link in that paragraph): https://github.com/jimmejardine/qiqqa-open-source#notifications-of-new-releases
