Cannot remove watch folder #376

Open MR1959 opened 2 years ago

I cannot remove watch folder from a library. After erasing the entry under "Folders to Watch" and pressing "OK" the folder disappears. After restarting Qiqqa the entry appears again. So, I have the added .pdfs in two libraries in my case.

Also, is it possible to somehow delete a library?

All this I am trying to do since my Qiqqa is very unstable and crashes all the time. I suspect that I have a corrupt .pdf somewhere.

I'm using v.83s with Windows 10, but I tried also earlier versions. In the past with commercial version everything was smooth.

I need to look into this, but I believe the Watched-Folders list is stored in a (text) file as part of the Qiqqa library as kept on your harddisk. 🤔

Sorry to hear that. I'm working on improving this, but it's slow going at the moment. 😢

Well, I'm pretty sure they won't cope well either: when a library grows, I've found that qiqqa[^1] slowly starts to become increasingly unstable -- a tough issue to tackle as several critical external components contribute to the increasing crappiness, including memory leakage/consumption in 32bit .NET - cross-referencing #289.

^1: particularly versions before v82; the v83 series has other bugs due to testing particular issues for some folks, so v83 is more a kind of 'does this work for you kind of test series 😢
