Record names in graph #139

Open Veldkip opened 5 years ago

Veldkip commented 5 years ago

In the graph legend records get the name of the file source. Which in my case is always Garmin Connect. I cannot change/manipulate the name in no way.

jimmykane commented 5 years ago

Hey hi, can you show me an example?

Could you share the uploaded file with me ?

Feb24 hb ana I see no way no add the files. As you can see the 2 are identical but 1 started later. I can't succeed in correcting that.... :-(

jimmykane commented 5 years ago

Go to settings and set the x axis to time . That should solve it.

To email me the files (so I can check if they have a model number etc) use jimmykane9@gmail.com

Could you try to tap the workout lock icon (top left) and once it's publc then share the link here?

jimmykane commented 5 years ago

(that will make it public and sharable)

Veldkip commented 5 years ago

Just finished my 2nd attempt. All OK now!! Initially used GPX format, now FIT. Also the sync is only a tiny bit off now, which is amazing, the difference between the 2 regs was ±1000 m.!! I still didn't get to work the manual starting point setting. (but don't really need it of course) And also setting the axle value....... (there's no instructions for people that were struggling with math in school? :-) ) The link: (it didn't copy to my clipboard!) https://quantified-self.io/user/dUEGE3qXI3clqyz5vvc4Pxf6Hwc2/event/keAhKpCzFpLAiYbzyXtR?tabIndex=0 Pl let me know in case you still like to receive the files. Tks a lot! 👍 I'll check if I ever donated. :-) And now I have to find out how to install this: https://gitlab.com/greg.lund/fitantid

I get something like the above when using the time axis (not duration that is the default) -> just checking you have the same setting on your profile on Quantified-Self

Looks pretty much 1:1 for me

In general always prefer the .fit files. They include summary and header information. Eg ascent etc. If you use GPX and TCX some of those are not there and the app tries to recalculate them. That is not the best thing todo though if you want to really compare what devices recorded, so fit is the way to go.

Veldkip commented 5 years ago

Maybe interesting to know what I'm doing: I forgot to put on my chest strap 1 day and noticed that when I came home. So my Edge didn't have a HR signal. When looking at the reg I saw a HR!! I was wearing my Fenix F3. And had it started for no special reason, certainly not for HR as I was wearing it with 2 layers of textile under the watch. But it did register and it doesn't look strange (which happens a lot with OHR, wristworn) It also transmitted (a coincidence) and the Edge apparently was ever coupled with it and had automatically switched to it (which I think is the way it works). If this is true it's quite surprising, for several reasons, most important the fact that OHR can function. Only problem: it's not a stable phenomenon...... I repeated the situation and then it dropped after a while and never came back....

jimmykane commented 5 years ago

I would not trust OHR but its not bad to have it exactly for those situations. Some people also hate the fact that the watch can switch auto to OHR if the connection to the belt drops. ITs really interesting stuff what you report :-O

Veldkip commented 5 years ago

I had logged in as a guest. Does that explain I could find on how to change the axle value? Starting point did do something but then reported unlogical behaviour.

Veldkip commented 5 years ago

could not find

Veldkip commented 5 years ago

Found it! For the future. I repeated the situation the next day, but then had the Garmin chest sensor reg through 820. Like you said: something goes totally wrong........ https://quantified-self.io/user/dUEGE3qXI3clqyz5vvc4Pxf6Hwc2/event/swaw8XWszgIVFMc9fWa2 Polar OH1 seams to do quite good and they have it on the market for a good price, esp. when buying the dumped original version. That will get an upgrade..... Even the goggles clip can be ordered for free (??) (don't know if you're following the hardware world...)

Veldkip commented 5 years ago

some remarks:

Veldkip commented 5 years ago

Oh, and animations I switched on but don't see what it does..... And effecting performance is what?

jimmykane commented 5 years ago

:-O you dont get maps? Maybe some tiny bug?

Screenshot 2019-04-17 at 10 32 31

I get for the link you shared.

Animations are for the charts nothing biggy but more of an aesthetic thing.

jimmykane commented 5 years ago

is it complicated to add the ANT id of the sensors?

I can I think can you email me the fit file? jimmykane9@gmail.com

Veldkip commented 5 years ago

map: works again, after a few actions of which the page reload maybe was the thing that helped? sensor ID's: I would really like it if it was part of the tool! jimmykane commented 5 years ago

And I thought I was the data freak (although mainly a runner)

Veldkip commented 5 years ago

I am a duathlete, as you can see and have 4 bikes, standard racing, timetrial, offroad full suspension, beachbike (hardtail & front, balloon tires). Should sell some sensors though..... esp. since China versions are just as good for 1/4 of the price. Unfortunately cannot run, injured, chronically...

Veldkip commented 4 years ago

I was on your 'website' (what is it really? A lab? 😀 again. After a long time. It looks damn nice!! You've put quite some effort in it. I wanted to check the record with the unexpected good OHR contribution again. The sensor ID section still is what it was the last time, when you had just added it.. Are you stuck? Or is it a matter of priorities? Is there other 'software' covering this? I have done some more uploads and checks and now know for sure that it was the broadcasted OHR that added the BB data to the bike computer's reg. See the file!!!

Is it complicated to collect data as far as sensors concerned? The ones that have names, where do these come from? Looks like they're mostly not coming along with the fit. You found a db or did I supply those? There is a lot of repeating in the reports, but not consequent.

Found this somewhere: Most of the record types in the FIT format aren't actually all // that useful. FileId, Lap, and Record clearly are. The one // other one that might be useful is DeviceInfo, but it doesn't // seem to be filled in properly. Sean's Cinqo, for example,

I couldn't find any inlog. Maybe I always used it as 'guest'..... But my files once remained available but now they were gone. No prob, there weren't many.. Guess I can make sure they stay by getting an account?

How are you by the way? And the family? Greece is pretty calm! Quite annoying that it isn't clear what's the best strategy. I do know that too many nations have taken very drastic measures which will eventually be a disaster for the economy. Terrible recession!! With the planet as the biggest victim!! Anyway: how's running? Do you go out with the stroller? On the road o.c.

Doei! (it's not used so much anymore....... even looks funny.....😀

Hey @Veldkip life is good!

Thanks for the words on the app :-D

We have moved back to NL and now we live in Vogelenzang. I am enjoying the dunes here and some bikerides to the beach and back :-D

Wanna email me the files that miss the sensor info so I can get back to you?

Veldkip commented 4 years ago

I totally missed yr reaction!! They seem not to be in any of Gmails boxes.

Back here? That's as easy as that? And Vogelenzang? OK! That's quite nice I guess, as far as I know it (not much). And certainly for its situation....

I upgraded the prog and now I can again decide to make a 'personal' inlog but how will I keep my uploads? There are many now, as I was persisting in my attempts to detect all my sensors.... Unable to find any database on IN.

You want the fit's? You haven't found any more fields containing sensor info? It looks like 'licensees' are not doing things properly. Under the new ones I meanwhile found this is the most awkward: ID name manuf. type s/w ANT ID in gebr. 8194 unknown 16.48 op F3 4/2020 loop & ellip 60320 unknown 81.94

F3 4/2020 ellip Looks like it's the same, mixed up field contents.... In some other records I see unlogical big nbrs in the s/w field, missing points/maybe even 2 nbrs 'merged'.

Hey @Veldkip how are you?

Just checking on the status of this.

I have recently enabled realtime sync with Garmin + added the device names.

Do you still miss sensor data?

If yes feel free to email the files and I can try to look at this
