kernel panic -not syncing: VFS unable to mount root fs on unknown -block(0,0) #173

hi all, i am booting android ics in beagle board xm, after running the script 
file 
partions in sdcard has been made and when i put the sdcard in beaglexm and 
connected the xm   to the host pc and observed the booting process in the 
hyperterminal...during booting it says 

kernel panic ...not syncing..

It looks like sdcard initialization is not happening from linux.

You seem to be using pre-built images, so I don't know why this is the case for 
you.

thanks for the reply...i have used prebuilt images as you said...but then there 
should be some solution for this kind of problem...since i am very new to the 
linux...i am trying to find out the solution....
