Due to the known lock-up behavior of many Modern Forms fans (see: issue #3 for example), increased polling interval prolongs the fan reachability (sadly, still coupled with my reboot hack). Since this issue does not seem to be going away, increasing scan_interval may be prudent course of action (potentially coupled with the improvement proposed in issue #8).
