Error in generated prosody.cfg.lua? #1030

Closed ahoeg closed 3 years ago

ahoeg commented 3 years ago

Deployed latest stable version, but get that error in prosody container logs:

**************************
A problem occurred while reading the config file /config/prosody.cfg.lua

Error: /config/conf.d/jitsi-meet.cfg.lua:33: '}' expected near 'https'

More help on configuring Prosody can be found at https://prosody.im/doc/configure
Good luck!
**************************

Any idea why?

Generated config file:

-- Prosody Example Configuration File
--
-- Information on configuring Prosody can be found on our
-- website at http://prosody.im/doc/configure
--
-- Tip: You can check that the syntax of this file is correct
-- when you have finished by running: luac -p prosody.cfg.lua
-- If there are any errors, it will let you know what and where
-- they are, otherwise it will keep quiet.
--
-- The only thing left to do is rename this file to remove the .dist ending, and fill in the
-- blanks. Good luck, and happy Jabbering!

Include "conf.d/*.cfg.lua"
saghul commented 3 years ago

This is the main prosody config, the failing one is Jitsi-meet.cfg.lua. Can you please attach that?

ahoeg commented 3 years ago

Hi @saghul, thanks! Directed me to the problem. Domain was enclosed by " and so generated config was double enclosed ""<DOMAIN>"". I adjust the env file and do some more tests.

ahoeg commented 3 years ago

Some points I figured out...

  1. do not use quotation marks! Do use simple passwords without #!
  2. Do not append :443 to PUBLIC_URL! Won't work! Maybe required if non-default port is used?

Maybe documentation should be extended or both variants (quotation marks and with :443) should be supported
