Same issue here. Exactly the same error in the logfiles. We have tested this on two systems. It seems to be edge browser on windows.
Will test on the latest release today and get back if it changes something. (We run the same version as stated in this ticket at the moment)
Are you using prejoin screen?
@damencho yes
And you reproduce this every time on that machine? Do you reproduce the same on meet.jit.si?
So far i have used it on 3 different jitsi instances. Let me do a quick test on meet.jit.si as well
yes. It is reproducible there as well. Same error in the browser console. See screenshot on how it looks. jb2 is doubled.
One logfile
Any update/progress on this?
@small1 We were not able to reproduce the issue and we added more logs in order to figure out where the second connection is coming from. This is now deployed on meet.jit.si. Could you please try it again and upload your logs? Could you please also enable all log levels (the debug level too)?
This had been fixed in https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/commit/960a08c0663c63d4ddcc8d7100f6bfc509ee0913
What happened?
If a user joins a meeting and has either multiple cameras or multiple microphones on their PC to choose from, and clicks join directly before the devices can be initialized, they will be logged into a room multiple times (number of devices). They will hear themselves according to the number of sessions they have.
This behavior could be reproduced both with multiple cameras and with no camera but multiple microphones.
The operating system is Windows. Such behavior has not yet occurred under Linux. It is also noticeable that it occurs more frequently in combination with docking stations and laptops, where the device initialization also seems to take longer; but it also occurred on an older Dell Optiplex, which had a higher resource utilization with multiple microphones but no camera.
