Mounting USB is always Trivial on the Wii. From the sound of it, it sounds like
a
CIOS issue, but then again it could be something else. One thing you can try
doing is
before loading DOP is to unplug and replugin the USB drive. Some drives may
needs to
be woken up. It could also be possible that the CIOS mounting may have also
changed.
When I get a chance I'll try the new CIOS out. In the mean time if you need USB
support you can either use one of the older CIOSes or use one of the official
Nintendo IOSes with Patches.

Hi Lunatik,
Thanks for the speedy reply. The problem is not with my usb drive sleeping. I
am
runing an older enclosure that does not sleep. I thought I would mention one
more
thing on this. Before I discovered Dop-Mii I was using Dop-Ios-Mod. I noticed
the
Dop-Ios-Mod system report had a column that showed if an IOS had Usb 2.0
support.
Waninkokos V17 and Hermes V4 showed usb 2.0 enabled for all of their cIOS's.
Waninkokos V18/V19 and Hermes V5 showed usb 2.0 as disabled for all of their
cIOS's.
Not sure why this is. Perhaps they have change their implimentation of usb 2.0
such
that Dop-Ios-Mod could not detect it. Not sure if this sheds any lignt on the
problem.
Why was the usb 2.0 column dropped in Dop-Mii? I thought that was valuable
information to display. Thanks again for your app and support and look forward
to
your reply...

The main reason it was removed was because to report against USB2 was partially
invalid. For example Wanikoko was using the EHCI module which is USB2 but
Hermes was
patching the existing OH1 Module to enable USB2. Because of this we were always
getting asked why Hermes' CIOS would not report USB2 when in fact everyone knew
that
USB2 was support. After talking with various devs on the matter, there really
is no
good way to test for USB2 for OH1 except to open the device and do a file
transfer
and calculate the amount of time it took to transfer the file. Because of this
I felt
that doing this would slow down SysCheck quite a bit.
However I did read that Hermes v5+ is now using the EHCI module so I may bring
it
back at a later time.

Hi Lunatik,
Well I am very sorry to of wasted your time. I am such a dumb ass!!!! Your
app is
rock solid and has no problems with the latest Wanikoko or Hermes cIOS's. It
is in
fact Wainikoko's own Wad Manager that has the problem. I can reproduce this
problem
using Wad Manager 1.5 or 1.6.
Wad Manger lets you select the IOS version to use for wad installs. Once the
IOS is
selected you must select the storage device. The options are (SD Slot,Usb Mass
Storage,Usb 2.0 Mass Storage).
I can mount and install Wads using IOS 36 from the SD Slot and Usb Mass Storage
but
not Usb 2.0 Mass Storage. This makes sense since IOS 36 does not have usb 2.0
support. However when I choose Hermes 202,222,223,224 or Wanikoko 249,250 I can
only
mount and install wads from the SD Card. Both the Usb Mass Storage and Usb 2.0
Mass
Storage fails mounting the device with Error -1.
This stuff all works using Hermes V4 and Wanikoko V17. I can only conclude
that all
of there cIOS's have a problem. However I find it hard to believe that both of
them
have broken Usb and Usb 2.0 mount's. Do you have any insite on this? How do
you
contact Hermes or Wanikoko to report problems?
Lastly I have one more question that I hope you can answer. I am using
priiloader
along with the offered System Menu Hacks. I am unsure of the hack "Force Disc
Games
to run under IOS249". Does this apply for disc games only as it says or for
Usb
backups as well. In either case is this hack a good idea? I am new to this
stuff
and very skeptical of this one.
Thanks again...

You can probably get in contact with Wanikoko at wanikoko@gmail.com. Not sure
about
hermes.
As far as the Priiloader hacks go, this only applies to the System Menu. USB
loaders
you can usually specify which IOS you want the game to run as.
