gmgm @divine-economy , i wanna propose to you some small adjustments to the leaderboard layout.
those large spacing modifications appeared a little strange to me at desktop after looking over some of your work in figma and converting it into code. i would really like these cards to be as compact as possible.
i think that as a user expands this section, we should allow them to see the entire entry and offer them as much width as possible. this is because they want to see it completely, and it doesn't feel right to me to keep squishing it from the sides. therefore, i decreased those spaces and maintained the original vote button designs but increased it's size (in addition to adding a vote button since, in my opinion, it should be the centre of attention and is so well represented), but i altered the border colors and hovered over them as you intended.
i think this version is great as is, at least for me now. i used a lot of what you created in figma, but i made a few changes to keep it more compact.
here is the current version in dev (i have reduced drop-shadow but they aren't visible in these screenshots)
Some additional feedback & thoughts:
responded to main point about spacing in telegram!
additional notes:
~ Great point on entries without votes. Using the teal pulsing circle when voting is life makes sense to me! That's our "this is live" button. We could think about having "open to enter" contests on the landing page use a yellow circle instead of a teal i guess too.
~ I was imagining you could tap anywhere in the leaderboard (except on the voting button) and it would just drop down the entry, and then there's no need to go to the separate entry card unless you want to share it (so we could just add a share icon). I get the point we might want the author to be active too (normally I would mock it up in teal if it's a link, so we could consider that as an option).
There's a bigger discussion here about whether we're gradually moving towards a paradigm where entries don't need their own page necessarily. The link could just take you to that entry expanded within the contest page, for example. But: 1) we're not there yet, and it will take significant additional work to get there, 2) we still face an issue for the gallery views, which doesn't allow entries to be expanded within the page.
So for now, I think:
1) Nobody needs the entry to link to a standalone page with this flow unless they want to share it, so let's include a share icon. Very good call. 2) With that said, we should still give access to this page. So I think the title could link to it. In other words, if you hover over the author or title, they could turn teal for you to click on them. And then on mobile, this issue is already solved since if you tap on an entry, you just go to its page. I believe?
here it is at long last @nakedfool!
full leaderboard and gallery views -- let me know if anything is missing or if you have any questions. this loom is 20 minutes long, so grab a coffee and sit back and enjoy. this was the most intense design push i've done, and i'm excited for the many many opportunities these enable (while also solving our most requested feature).

the big questions are around how we want to format pictures to appear across the page in gallery view -- glad to defer to you there and do a call if it's helpful!
