Short snippet is cut off after 'Extract clip' #49

Browser / OS / device Google Chrome Version 85.0.4183.83 (Official Build) (64-bit), Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS, Dell Latitude E7450

What did you do?

  1. Went to scrapbook and selected a conversation.
  2. Clicked Create snippet.
  3. Used the cropping bars to create a snippet.
  4. Clicked Extract clip
  5. Returned to scrapbook to listen to the snippet.

What did you expect? I expected the snippet to sound the same as when I had previewed it before extracting.

What did happen? The snippet was cut off.

@parkerrobbins Thanks for the video, that makes it very clear! We are looking into this. At the moment we are working on making the cropping tool more fine grained which may fix this as well.

@jkhartshorne We have been able to recreate this issue on our local systems, but are still working on the build for the fix. Thus far we have found some partial fixes, but they have had limited browser support, or would cause a separate issue that would need to be fixed. I reviewed this issue with the team today and will let you know when we have something on staging to test for it.

Do you have a sense of what range of things are affected right now?

@jkhartshorne This issue should not affect parts of the app outside of the difference that occurs between where the end of the cropper appears when making the snippet and what gets played back which sometimes ends around a half second too early.

@alexchippendale Just wondering if there is any update on this. I'm still having the same issues with cropping and snippet playback.

@alexchippendale @jkhartshorne FYI I'm still having this problem. Same device/OS Version as above, but now Chrome Version 86.0.4240.198.
