I remember it worked with 535 drivers, and with Nouveum drivers. But with the new 545 Nvidia drivers only alpha dim works :/

If you disable the Soft Brightness Plus extension completely, does brightness control work?

Good insight. When I turn it off I completely lose the ability to change brightness at all. So it is Nvidias fault as usual, right?
