Can I comment that this feature is rather more than an 'enhancement', it's actually really important! Maybe it seems like a minor thing but many players are very used to using countdown sounds. There is also nothing more frustrating that timing out of a game just as it is getting interesting enough to distract you from remembering to physically look at the tiny numbers in the corner!

Worth remembering that KGS is hosting the blitz tournament in the AGA e-congress next week...

Really countdown is unnecessary, just give us some beeps or clicks.

I tend to lose on time on blitz games to the point that I can't use this interface. Some small beeps on last 5 seconds would go long way. (all I need)

Worth commenting that I have switched entirely to using Go Universe over Shin KGS, mostly just for the reason of the audio. Go Universe hardly has 'high quality' audio but as commented above, it really doesn't matter---all you need are a few beeps in the last 10 seconds of byo-yomi!
